A Taste of Our Own Medicine

Come and enjoy a taste of the Old Medicine House on the day we celebrate 70 years of the NHS. Alison Langley is a long-serving member of the NHS who will give a presentation about how the NHS transformed the health and wellbeing of the nation and became the envy of the world. Val White will tell the story of the Johnson Bros who manufactured their Johnsons XX Oil also known as 'Staffordshire Cure-all' in the House from the 1860s onwards. See displays of our Johnson Archive including tools and ledgers as you tour the House. In the garden Barbara, an experienced herbalist and retired pharmacist will be working in our herb beds. She will be available to discuss the plants and their history in medicine.
